Magnet board THPG steel (60 x 40 cm)

Description:

This solid magnet board made of 3 mm thick European rolled steel was cut using laser technology in Lüdinghausen, Germany. It is made of raw black sheet steel, so it has not been surface-finished, which would rob the material of any character gained during the production process. The traces of the various manufacturing steps are visible to the naked eye: you may find the imprints of large suction cups used to lift the sheet metal from the rolling mill belt, or the remains of the coolant that prevented the rollers from overheating. The dark colour of the board is due to the layer of scale that forms when the hot steel reacts with oxygen during processing. Each piece is unique, openly displaying its montane origin and heavy industrial history.

The particularly generous material thickness of 3 mm, which is not common on the market, prevents the board from swinging when particularly strong magnets are used. In our practical tests, sheets with a thickness of 2 mm failed because the lack of rigidity regularly causes the fixed notes to end up on the floor. To ensure that this 5.3 kg magnet board is securely fastened, we supply universal wall plugs together with 8 mm hanger bolts. The distance between the board and the wall can be individually adjusted using the included brass hexagon and cap nuts, to compensate for any unevenness in the surface. Rust is not a problem outside of damp rooms, especially since we seal each board with a thin layer of wax.

More details

A product of European heavy industry that does not conceal its mining origins behind an artificially embellished surface.

This solid magnetic board made of 3 mm thick European rolled steel was cut here in Lüdinghausen, Münsterland, using laser technology. It is made of untreated black plate, so it has not undergone any surface finishing that would rob the material of any identity gained during the production process. The traces of the various production steps can be seen with the naked eye: you may find the imprints of large suction cups on it, which were used to lift the sheet from the rolling mill belt, or the remains of the coolant that prevented the rollers from overheating. The plate owes its dark coloring to the layer of scale that is created when the hot steel is processed by the reaction of oxygen with iron. Each piece is unique, openly displaying its mining origins and heavy industrial history.

The particularly thick material thickness of 3 mm, which is unusual on the market, prevents the board from vibrating when particularly strong magnets are pulled off. In our practical tests, sheets with a thickness of 2 mm failed because the lack of rigidity regularly ensures that the fixed notes end up on the floor when magnets with the appropriate adhesive force are used. We supply universal dowels with 8 mm hanger bolts to securely attach the 5.6 kg magnetic board. The distance between the board and the wall can be individually adjusted using the enclosed brass hexagon and cap nuts to compensate for any unevenness in the surface. Rust is not a problem outside damp rooms, especially as we seal each board with a thin layer of wax.
