Manderow estate
Bakelite switch system®.
Renovation work at Gut Manderow has been ongoing since early 2018, and the first guest rooms are now ready for occupancy. The restoration, which has been carried out with great care and attention to detail, is not yet finished - a more than understandable situation for a property of this size. This provides fascinating insights for guests who are interested in the building and its past. The manor, which is around 10 kilometers from Wismar and the Baltic Sea, has an almost eight-hundred-year history of construction and use. The present building owes its appearance to a neo-baroque-style reconstruction in 1922 on the foundation of a Renaissance building - and it's precisely this 1922 design that is now being restored. From a building biology perspective, the use of historic lime plaster and lime paints ensures an ideal ambience with natural freshness. During the renovation, THPG switch systems were installed to match the construction period of 1922. This shows how important even the smallest details such as light switches and outlets are in creating a coherent ambience. The design of our porcelain and Bakelite® switch systems exactly reflects the standard of the era, including the typical clicking sound of a rotary switch thanks to a real rotary mechanism. This coherence continues in the outdoor areas and surroundings of Gut Manderow: anyone taking a holiday here will feel transported back to a bygone age in the countryside with its rare fauna and frequently clear night sky.
