This house is located on an elevation on the edge of the small wine-making village of Zeutern, with a view of the Kraichgau region's rolling hills. Despite its abstract and sculptural character, the property does not appear out of place, but instead blends harmoniously into the landscape. The reason for this successful symbiosis is the down-to-earth nature of the dwelling, as reflected in the building materials chosen: wooden windows, folding shutters and oak cladding, copper coverings, rough, coarse-grained plaster and a green roof. When it came to designing the interior details such as switches and outlets, top priority was given to materials conveying an authentic character.
"We used traditional materials for this house located by vineyards because we wanted to strike a certain down-to-earth tone with handcrafted surfaces as a counterpoint to the abstract and modern shape of the property. THPG's ceramic rotary switches are plastic-free and blend harmoniously with the material composition of the interior. What's more, we were thrilled by the archetypal and original nature of a rotary switch."
