The residential building consists of three elements. A gray, minimalist cube with a gabled roof is pierced by two white cubes. These stand out on the façade thanks to their protrusions and are formally and visually enhanced by glass joints. The individual floors are arranged on split levels, creating interesting spatial relationships.
The interior spaces throughout the house are bright and open. Materials such as wenge parquet and slate flooring, in both black and gray, combine with the white ceilings and walls to give the building a timeless and harmonious character.
The interplay between open spatial structures and retreat areas creates interesting views, perspectives, and insights. The aluminum window elements, which are designed as black post-and-beam constructions, are a defining feature of the building envelope, allowing for large window areas with minimal framing. The windows are flush with the façade to make the outer shell appear as homogeneous as possible and to reinforce the cubic character of the building.
The building is brought to life by interesting light patterns that flow differently through all the rooms. Details such as free-standing stair steps, the use of switches, sockets, and lights made of Bakelite ®, as well as the "open-air" showers add accents and reinforce the reduced cubic character of the building's form.
