Flax was once the most important Swiss export product until its cultivation and subsequent processing came to a complete standstill for 70 years from the middle of the 20th century. Today, this ancient cultivated plant is once again grown on an area of around 7.5 hectares in the Emmental. The natural fibre obtained from it is completely biodegradable, very tear-resistant and for these reasons has been processed into textiles and ropes for thousands of years.
We offer it as a 45 metre long cord, which is ideal for use in the garden (e.g. as a replacement for the usually plastic-coated binding wire) or as packing string. The packaging box has an integrated knife for precise cutting to size.
